Which is better for floor drains, copper or stainless steel

Copper has a relatively longer service life. It can last for two thousand years without rotting, but it is more expensive. Stainless steel only lasts for about fifty to sixty years, but it is cheaper. It is estimated that few can live for 2,000 years. Our house usage rights are only 70 years. So in terms of practical performance, stainless steel ones are more cost-effective.

2. Copper products, after electroplating, will have different colors on their surfaces. Stainless steel ones are generally difficult to handle, so usually there are fewer patterns. However, no matter what kind of electroplating it is, the plating will come off after several years (the current performance electroplating products are car wheels, all of which will rust). Especially for floor drains that are constantly soaked in water, the plating is more likely to come off. Although it does not affect the use, the aesthetic appeal is definitely reduced.

Overall, stainless steel offers the best cost performance, while copper is of a higher grade.

The materials of floor drains come in many types. For instance, ceramic materials are inexpensive, corrosion-resistant but not impact-resistant and prone to damage. Made of stainless steel, it has a moderate price, an attractive style, does not rust and is durable. Cast iron material is cheap, has a low production cost, is prone to rust, is not aesthetically pleasing and is not easy to clean. Many old houses use floor drains made of this material. Copper material, which is moderately priced, does not rust and is quite practical. PVC material is inexpensive, but it is prone to deformation due to temperature changes and is easily scratched or damaged.
